What is a First Time Handicapper?

A first time handicapper is a horse running in a handicap race for the first time after being given an official rating. The assessor has to estimate the horse's ability from limited evidence — and sometimes they get it wrong. When the mark is generous, these horses can be well ahead of the weights. This report finds today's first-time handicappers so you can identify the ones that look well treated.
